ACM Aviation Announces IS-BAO Safety Registration

San Jose, CA - March 25, 2010.  ACM Aviation, a leading charter and aircraft management company, is proud to announce their registration meeting the requirements of the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO).   As one of only a handful of worldwide charter companies to meet this International code of best aviation practices, ACM strives to continually set the bar for aviation excellence.

The International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) introduced the IS-BAO program to standardize the highest safety and procedures in aviation across countries and borders. IBAC works closely with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) towards establishing international 'codes of best practice'.

IS-BAO was formally introduced and made available to the business aviation community at the European Business Aviation Conference and Exhibit (EBACE) in Geneva, May 2002. In August of 2009, IBAC and the EBAA announced that the IS-BAO would be granted official European recognition as an acceptable means of compliance for their business aircraft operational standards. "This registration places ACM Aviation as an adherent to one of the world's most recognized and respected aviation standards and is a testament to our operational quality and safety practices", "For me, the IS-BAO registration confirms two very important things.  First - it demonstrates that our company has adopted the international best practices for our worldwide business aircraft operations, and secondly, it confirms that our team of aviation professionals adheres to the policies and procedures that have been established" says ACM President Frank Milian.

Part of the registration received by a charter operator by the IS-BAO includes an approved Safety Management System (SMS). In order to fly in international airspace, which consists leaving the 48 contiguous U.S. after Nov. 18, 2010 you must have an approved SMS program. The approval is granted by an auditor authorized by IS-BAO.  ACM Aviation management and aviation professionals throughout the company have worked diligently to meet all the requirements and codes necessary to implement an approved SMS. Through the use of an SMS, charter operators can proactively identify and manage risks. SMS is a structured process that obligates organizations to manage safety with the same level of priority that other core business processes are managed.
